DONATION FROM LAURIE ELKS

On behalf of THE HOPE HOUSE OF MILLER COUNTY, we want to thank the Osage Elks Lodge #2705 in Laurie, MO, for including us as one of the charities they are supporting this year. Mike Wright, Leading Knight and Steve Konuch, Trustee, presented a check for $2,415, which will be used to help purchase food for our pantry.
The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks serves the people and communities through benevolent programs demonstrating that “Elks Care and Elks Share”. The Order spends more than $80,000 every year for benevolent, educational, and patriotic community-minded programs in such fields as benefitting special needs children, sponsoring Elks National Foundation scholarships, scouting, athletic teams, veterans’ works, a national “Hoop Shoot” free-throw contest involving more than 3 million children, physical and occupational therapy programs and patriotic programs. They have initiated the Elks National Drug Awareness Program, which is one of the largest volunteer programs in the United States.
We are truly grateful to the Elks for their support not only to Hope House but for everything they do for the community.

COATS AND CLOTHING FOR AREA KIDS

Hope House just completed giving out new coats to our client’s children. We gave out 311 coats along with gloves and scarves. Through the generosity of the Daybreak Rotary, who donated $2,500, and the generosity and kindness of our customers, who donated $712 in the donation jars at our registers, we were able to purchase coats for all our children. It always warms our hearts at the smiles of the children as they pick out their new coat. God’s Blessings to each of you and Thank You for your generosity.

DONATION FROM LAKE OZARK DAYBREAK ROTARY CLUB

We want to thank the Lake Ozark Daybreak Rotary for their generous donation of $2,500. Again this year Hope House is giving out new coats to our client’s children from newborn to age 18. We are truly blessed to have the support of this wonderful organization and this donation is being used to purchase the coats. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training. The Rotary is comprised of business people and community leaders. They offer opportunities for hands-on involvement in improving our community and the world.

CHANGING TABLE DONATION TO THE HOPE HOUSE

The Changing Table helps to supply diapers and feminine products to their community partners, such as crisis nurseries, housing programs, domestic violence shelters, foster agencies, schools, and faith-based organizations. We have been fortunate to be able to partner with them to receive our feminine products, which we give out each month to our clients. They recently held a golf tournament to raise funds to help re-stock for winter. From funds raised from the tournament they were able to order over 90,000 diapers/period supplies. On behalf of Hope House both Sharon Konuch, and her husband Steve, along with Katie Thorman and her husband John, participated in the golf tournament. Deb Morris Photography was there to capture pictures of all the participants.

LOCC Corvette Show Donations to Charities - Hope House Food Pantry.
The Lake of the Ozark Corvette Club (LOCC) recently awarded four local charities with donation checks as a result of their very successful Corvette Show on May 1st of this year. LOCC and Margaritaville hosted the show which drew one-hundred and forty of America’s iconic sports cars from nine states to compete for Trophies and Awards. Fifty local sponsors from around the lake donated money to make the event possible. Prospective sponsors were told that any profits from the show would be shared with local charities. Club officials made the presentations on July 8.
Sharon Konuch, Director of the Hope House Food bank, is shown accepting a check for $500 from LOCC President Ellen Ensminger and Vice-President Pete Spanos who head the 188-member organization. The Corvettes include a 1967 Stingray convertible and a 2020 Stingray Coupe.

On behalf of Hope House we want to send a big thank you to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints for their Humanitarian donation of 12 full pallets of non-perishable food items. We are very grateful for all the food they provided us.

The mission of the church is to help all of God’s children come to Jesus Christ through learning about his gospel, making and keeping promises with God and practicing Christlike love and service. Members of the Church believe in helping individuals and families fulfill the commandments to love God and to love thy neighbor. Members do so by living the gospel of Jesus Christ, caring for those in need, inviting all to receive the gospel and uniting families through family history and temple work.

GRANT RECEIVED FROM LAKE OZARK DAYBREAK ROTARY

We received a grant for $1,500 from the Daybreak Rotary. We are truly grateful for their continued support. These funds helped us purchase new coats for the children of our clients. We ended up giving new coats to 315 children this year. Hope House is truly blessed to have such wonderful donors who have been a godsend to help us make it through this very difficult year.

KRADLE TO CRAYON DAY CARE CENTER in Osage Beach held a food drive recently, and the children brought bags of non-perishable food items to Hope House. The children were so excited when they came in carrying their bags of food.

We really appreciate everything they brought us, as it is a very difficult time of year, and all the food they brought will be distributed to our clients in need.
